Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has appeared on film and on television, as well as in stage productions, is known for portraying Teri Joseph, a fiery attorney in Showtime's Soul Food. Contractor who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai when he was 7years old, traveled all over all over the world and had a taste of diverse cultures when he was a kid. From the age of seven to nine, the young lady attended boarding schools in London. Her family relocated to Toronto where she lived for most of her childhood. In Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and trained as ballet dancer of classical training. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special high-school for the arts, in which she didn't just study theater but danced and also. Contractor began her acting career at 16 after completing a total of 10 years of dance. After graduating high school, Contractor was awarded a scholarship by the University of Toronto to pursue an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology. In addition, she obtained an advanced degree in theatre. After one semester at the University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles at the prestigious, world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the lead role. Her performance was lauded for the 92 shows she appeared in. She won the 2002 award for the best production of the Year from Canadian critics. She was offered the opportunity to join Stratford Conservatory. It allows only eight males as well as four female students to take a course in traditional theater.
